Tourism in Liberia

As the Minister of Development of Liberia, I have planned certain activities to improve tourism in the country.

Sports Events - Hosting various events such as Cycling, Cricket, Football, etc will help increase tourism in the country. Since a lot of space is being unused. This will not only encourage other countries to participate and visit  Liberia but also help the citizens to participate in sports. Sport is a large platform for people to showcase their talent so organizing events will encourage people to visit the country and participate.

Beach Activities - Liberia is known for its beaches not just for the size of the beaches but also for their beauty. Surfing is very prominent in Liberia. Many beach activities such as surfing competitions, parties, etc can be hosted in order to increase tourism. There is a lot of unused space along the coast of Liberia, Resturants, and Resorts can be built in order to attract people from around to world to visit the country. Resorts will help people know about the Liberian culture as well as their lifestyle.

National Parks - The National parks in Liberia has a total of 140 species of mammals and over 600 species of birds. there are approximately 13 endangered species of wildlife such as Sperm-whale, Chimpanzee, etc. National Parks can be used to attract animal lovers across the globe. The citizens of the country should also be educated about the importance of the species of animals and how to conserve them.

Employment opportunities – Job creation is one of the most important factors for a higher human development index for any country. Rebuilding the war-torn economy and creating opportunities for youth employment and economic empowerment. Temporary jobs involve employment in agricultural projects, infrastructure development as well as road rehabilitation. Addressing the existing labor laws can also be a crucial priority. This helps in increasing infrastructure thus improving tourism.

Exploring the untapped natural resources - Liberia is home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls and parks, some of which have not even been discovered yet. Once these places are open to the public it will attract people and will increase tourism in the country.
